About the role
We are looking for a Compliance Operations Manager with an entrepreneurial mindset and deep financial services compliance knowledge. The individual would be excited to join a company in its early stages and help design, implement and manage our Compliance Operations function.
The key responsibilities will include (but not limited to):
- Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing and multi-disciplinary remote compliance operations team covering a variety of workflows within the compliance department (e.g. KYC, Transaction Monitoring, CDD, EDD, Sanctions, PEP’s, SAR’s, etc.).
- Conduct customer due diligence assessments, including understanding and applying relevant procedures where simple and enhanced due diligence checks are required.
- Investigate potential frauds, PEPs and sanctions matches, and complete SAR’s in compliance with the FCA regulation when appropriate.
- Carry out KYC reviews, monitor customer transactions and identify suspicious behaviour to better understand our customers.
- Work closely with the Head of Compliance amp; MLRO to monitor and evaluate the effective implementation of the policies, practices, measures, procedures and controls put in place, including in general the application of a risk based approach.
Requirements
About you

- 4+ years of compliance operations experience in the financial services industry. Past Fintech experience is required. UK financial services or banking experience strongly preferred.
- 2+ years of leadership experience within a compliance or operations department, with the proven ability to initiate and drive projects to completion with minimal supervision;
- Comprehensive knowledge and experience of consumer compliance practices such as onboarding (KYC, identification, verification), transaction monitoring, suspicious activity report, data protection, etc.;
- Deep understanding of Regulatory Compliance, Anti Money Laundering, and fraud;
- Experience managing a team of compliance operations professionals;
- Proven ability to effectively develop and provide team-wide compliance training;
- Experience using Onfido and Comply Advantage is desirable.
