Role Overview:
The Junior Release Train Engineer (RTE) will be responsible for one Agile Release Train (ART) initially, focusing oncontinuing our SAFe optimization.
SAFe knowledge and experience is desirable but not essential, for the right candidate we will certify you in SAFe and provide you with in-house training.
Commercial experience working in an Agile environment as a Scrum Master, Release Train Engineer already, Agile Delivery Manager, Agile Programme Manager, or similar position is required.
Knowledge and experience of working with Scrum and Agile methodologies and working with multiple teams is essential as this role will require the ability to prioritise and track multiple streams of work. You will receive support initially from an RTE to help you learn the role and then be expected to run your ART. You will have experience of leading and inspiring people as a Scrum Master, Coach, RTE, etc., ensuring they buy into the vision and want to be part of the journey. Knowledge and experience of Scrum and Agile principles, values and approaches is desirable marshalling delivery and resolving systematic impediments through complex value stream is desirable.Once you have developed a strong understanding of the various team and general engineering environment, your attention will shift to overall planning in a holistic sense across the ART and projects. In relation to this you will take ownership of the overall planning horizon and monitor both capacity and demand in an effort to ensure balance is achieved between quarterly objectives.You will ensure the delivery of maximum value through facilitating key program events and interactions,ensuring mission alignment amp; execution, communicating with and partnering with, senior stakeholders, escalating impediments, effective risk management and driving relentless improvement.In addition, as the ‘Agile Conscience’ of the ART, you will be an exceptional servant leader assisting our teams in value delivery, and coaching peers on our established processes and SAFe best practices. Overtime these responsibilities will expand including managing communications, interdependencies and scope and when required. Thatwill involve facilitating Scrum of Scrums sessions, alongside being involved in ceremonies generally, whilst keeping an eye on general Agile integration/education across the release trains and identifying areas for improvement.It will be your responsibility to eliminate programme - level blockers and ensure testing environments are adequate and spun up/ready for when they are needed. In turn, that will enable you to coordinate code deployment across the wider engineering function, as well as to deliver key release metrics to senior stakeholders. Generally, we will expect you to always be evaluating and managing our Agile and Lean processes with an eye on Continuous Improvement. It will always be a priority for you to find ways to optimise our software implementation and make our planning and delivery as efficient as possible.

Duties and Responsibilities:• Facilitate all Program Ceremonies (i.e. PI Planning, Inspect and Adapt) in an efficient and effective manner• Liaise with Product Management and Architects to ensure ‘Readiness’ ahead of key planning sessions and events• Ensure that the vision for the Program Increment is clear and well communicated• Work with relevant parties i.e. Scrum Masters and Product Owners to ensure that the Quarter plan is clear and help keep people aligned on PI Objectives and milestones to enable successful delivery• Resolve and track program level systemic impediments• Facilitate discussion and decision making, taking all team members into consideration whilst ensuring conflict resolution• Raise risks and suggest mitigation plan if delivery is going to be compromised, in a timely manner Facilitate effective system and solution demos• Ensure Scrum of Scrums and Product Owner syncs are in place and effective• Monitor capacity and skills providing input to address critical bottlenecks across the Agile Release Train• Track and report progress on PI Objectives to key stakeholders in forums such as ‘The Gathering’• Act as the ‘Agile Conscience’ for the Agile Release Train teaching, coaching and upholding the SAFe principles and framework• Actively identify new areas for improvement, carry out targeted coaching and successfully influence change across the Agile Release Train• Work to ensure that the Agile Release Train is motivated and coll
